Rachna's Note
April 2006
Dear Reader,
Welll..... it's April! We're a quarter of the way through the
year. Are your 2005 taxes done? Have the flowers started blooming
wherever you are?
Life on this end has been great- hectic- but great. I spoke at
Univ. of Maryland last week- which was fantastic. The topic of my
talk was "Maintaining a Good Advisory Relationship to Finish the
Dissertation"- the students were engaged, interested, and made
terrific observations.
My newest book (Overcome Rejection: The SMART way) is in the
editing process; I hope to have it printed and available by June.
(I'd originally planned to publish it by May, but since I'm out of
the office for most of this month, I figured I'd give myself a
little extra time to get it ready!)
On the wedding front, it's just a few more days! I'm really
looking forward to the event & our time away- we've booked a few
days vacation on Grand Bahama Island. Hopefully I get a chance to
try parasailing AND swimming with the dolphins.
Anyway, let's turn the focus to this month's newsletter, which
encourages you to revel in your achievements. There is no joy in
just running from one goal to the other without noticing your
progress and celebrating it. April is going to be my month of
joyful celebration.... maybe it could be the same for you?
Take time this month to review your progress and enjoy your
accomplishments.
See you in May!
:)
Rachna

So, by the time you're reading this, I will be just a few days
away from getting married. I'm closing down my business for just
about two weeks so I can enjoy the festivities and our
(previously unplanned but recently booked) trip to the Bahamas.
This will be our mini-honeymoon- which, honestly, I didn't think
was all that necessary, but now I'm looking forward to! It will
be nice to have some down-time after all this frenetic activity.
I'm amazed at how much has come to fruition in the past few
months, as well as how much I've accomplished, even when it felt
like I was getting nothing done (which, honestly, felt like most
of the past few months... no matter how much I did, there was
always more to do...) As I look back over the past few months, I
see that my business has become significantly more profitable, my
expert status has continued to grow, my next book (Overcome
Rejection: The SMART Way) is being published, and I've been lucky
enough to share my methods with some great groups of talented,
motivated people.
Personally, I have survived wedding planning!, managed my gift
registry, practiced our first dance, started looking for a new
place to live, and various and other numerous details... and,
too, all this with a generally good sense of humor!
Which brings me to our main focus for this month: reveling in
your accomplishments. If you're anything like me, you get one
thing done just to move on to the next. Let's both make a shift
this month and savor what we've accomplished, enjoy our progress
so far, and feel joyful about moving into the next phase of our
personal evolution.
Deal?
