No matter how long I've</div> <div> been out of school (just about 7 years now),</div> <div> September always seems like a month of new</div> <div> energy and new opportunities. Maybe it's that</div> <div> sense of gearing up for a new academic year</div> <div> (even though I haven't done this lately) or</div> <div> maybe it's the slightly cooler days and the crunchy</div> <div> leaves falling to the ground. Anyway, whatever</div> <div> it is, this month has been a time of re-orienting</div> <div> and refocusing after the lazy days of summer.</div> <bR> <div> My presentation at NET-IP (The National Organization</div> <div> of Young Indian Professionals)- was a smash! I</div> <div> presented with two other very talented professionals.</div> <div> The room was packed with upwards of 800 people, all</div> <div> of whom seemed engaged and interested in our topic.</div> <div> The energy was phenomenal (I'm still riding the wave</div> <div> of it!) and we even got a standing ovation at the</div> <div> end. How fun!</div> <bR> <div> Since flying back, I've been busy with following up</div> <div> on inquiries, developing some new</div> <div> products and finishing up my next book. It’s time to get back to a more structured</div> <div> working schedule, and to finalize your goals and</div> <div> plans for the rest of the year.</div> <bR> <div> Over this past month, I’ve been consciously considering</div> <div> the idea of creating space for the new. You know that</div> <div> old saying, “Nature abhors a vacuum?”- well, I’ve</div> <div> had proof- first hand- that this is absolutely true.</div> <bR> <div> It’s very easy to keep living our lives how we’ve</div> <div> always done- we know how to do this, we’re comfortable,</div> <div> and it doesn’t require much extra thought or effort.</div> <div> Sometimes, though, what we gain in routine or comfort,</div> <div> we trade off in never creating space for the new.</div> <bR> <div> The way I think of it, we each must say “goodbye”</div> <div> to something every so often so we can create the</div> <div> space to receive something new. Change, like life,</div> <div> happens in cycles- and there is a continuing push</div> <div> for renewal and newness- whether we’re ready or not.</div> <bR> <div> I saw this first hand in my life this month, as I</div> <div> decided it was time to say goodbye to some long-held</div> <div> beliefs and long-existing obligations. These goodbyes</div> <div> were overdue, but it was still difficult to let go.</div> <bR> <div> What I found, though, was that soon after shifting</div> <div> my beliefs, and of letting go of old obligations,</div> <div> all kinds of great new opportunities started flowing</div> <div> in- proving, once again (I’m sometimes a slow learner)</div> <div> that the Universe is extremely abundant.</div> <bR> <div> So, for you, I’d ask this: Is there any place in your</div> <div> life that you feel could use some growth? Some place</div> <div> where you’ve been holding onto old beliefs and old</div> <div> obligations which are keeping you from creating something new?</div> <bR> <div> If so, the time to take action is now.
