Rachna's Note
December 2005
Dear Reader,
Wow! Just 11 more days until 2006. I can't
believe how quickly this year has passed by!
My talk at the University of Maryland went
really well- we had more people than seats!
The graduate students were bright, motivated,
and asked fantastic questions. I had a great
time presenting, and may even be back next
semester. (I'm always a bit nervous when I
show up to speak, but, after a little bit
of time, I warm up and everything seems
to go fine....)
December was spent in a flurry of excitement
about planning our engagement party. The
party was a success- it was terrific to see
everyone and spend time with them. It was
wonderful to be surrounded by that much love,
you know?
As I already mentioned, but just in case you
missed it- check me out in the January issue
of Marie Claire (I'm quoted on how to raise
your self esteem) and the January issue of
Baltimore Magazine (about life
coaching). I also have a monthly article in
an online magazine for South Asian women-
ABCDlady, and have recently been asked to
serve as a consultant to several large South
Asian websites. So it's been a busy month!
I hope this note finds you well, and ready
to enjoy the remainder of 2005 with your family
and friends. I hope all your holiday events
are enjoyable and that you'll find time to
relax and have fun.
And, if you have a few minutes, I invite you
to check out this month's article on unleashing
your brilliance. Focus on what you do best, and
2006 is guaranteed to be a phenomenal year for
you.
Happy Holidays, and see you next month!
:)
Rachna

As 2005 winds down, and we gear up for 2006,
I’d like to ask you to consider this: there
are probably several things you do extremely
well....What are they?
Chances are, these are the traits that you find
yourself saying, “Is this really a brilliance
for me? Can’t everyone do this?” And the answer?
Nope.
If you’re looking ahead to making 2006 a
phenomenal year (and I hope you are), decide,
today, that you will focus mainly on
unleashing your brilliance.
This means: narrowing your to-do list to the
items you do extremely well and enjoy; and
either getting rid of, or getting help for,
the rest.
When you focus mainly on tasks you enjoy and
are good at, a few really interesting things
happen: first, you get more accomplished, in
less time. You experience greater success
more quickly because you’re in alignment
across your feelings and behaviors. You enjoy
life a lot more because you’re no longer
struggling or forcing yourself to do anything.
You, essentially, become a magnet for all
the powerfully good things you desire
and deserve!).
So, your first step is to determine your
brilliances. Your second step is to reshape
your life to focus on them. Your third step
is to express them. And, if you can’t yet
outsource ALL the unpleasant tasks, find
ways to accomplish everything you need
to do- in a way that is fun, feels good,
and makes the best use possible of all
your resources and strengths.
While all this might take a little practice,
the extra effort is worth it.
Unleash your brilliance in 2006.
You'll benefit yourself- and the world.
